Lunafest supports female filmmakers and gives talented directors a platform to share their unique perspectives and stories, with short films for and about women. In a female-forward spin on the Oscars, we're planning A Night at the Oenos - a nod to the Greek goddess of wine. Arriving guests will be greeted with a complimentary glass of Marathon Sparkling, the latest delicious wine from Grateful Grapes Wine Co. (an all-female cast).

With culinary collaborative support from Plainfield sponsors Wine & Cheese by TCC (another all-female cast) and Fork in the Road Catering (and yet another all-female cast), sweet and savory goodies also will be served to fest guests. And a DIY popcorn bar, courtesy of Warehouse 109 (has female leads) and Fork in the Road, will ensure that each moviegoer has fresh popcorn exactly to order. A cash bar will offer frontstage access to the Warehouse’s exceedingly well-stocked bar.

Proceeds from this enjoyable and empowering evening will benefit Guardian Angel Community Services in Joliet, which supports adults and children victimized by domestic violence.

Cohostesses Dawn Piper of Grateful Grapes and Susie Carlman of Fork in the Road invite you to join us in wearing black for this celebration of women and film. It’s a gesture of solidarity, yes - but we also like to be a little fancy sometimes.

We look forward to seeing you!
